The course titled as 'Statistics' is a 3-credit hour course that will be taught in the first semester, BS (Honors) Psychology. It will carry at least 48-contact hours of teaching encompassing lecture, discussion, and participatory approach. Topics will include introduction to the terminology crucial for understanding statistical content, techniques for conducting descriptive and inferential analyses, supplemented by SPSS tutorials. Major emphasis will be on developing conceptual clarity on statistical techniques, their assumptions and interpretations. The students will learn links between theory, techniques, and research methods and develop understanding to select appropriate tools. A small scale research project will be conducted and reported in APA style.
